I know I've been on some forums where the sig can be an entire page long - very difficult to navigate...
When the site first started, I remember seeing that someone didn't want signatures to be too large because it clutters up post and ads.

Yeah I'm not talking about paragraphs, just a little more wiggle room. Like yours, I am not even able to do that.
Don't allow pictures because it just gets too cluttered, and same for the quotes, I find the quote bubbles distracting. Also don't allow animated avatars.
