My neighbor recently bought an SKS that has been sporterized and wants me to help him try to take it back to original. It has a scope mounted and the front sights have been unpinned and removed. Does anyone know where to buy a new, original style front sight and/or bayonet lug? Also, has anyone ever taken this style scope mount off before? (see pics) I removed the 4 screws that can be removed, but its still solidly mounted. Assuming I am going to have to remove the tension pins, but didnt want to until I see if anyone knew for sure. Thanks for any help

That looks like a b-square over cover mount...releasing the screws and taking out the cross bolt for the top cover should work...those front sights are hard to get and you will pay dearly for them.Sometimes you can find them on eBay.Have you tried looking at a prince fifty paratrooper front sight? there about 60 ish...real nice though..
