Functionally it should make no difference, older milled AK’s with threaded barrels are not any more accurate than newer milled AK’s with pinned barrels. Replacement SKS pinned barrel would be less costly to manufacture, cheaper to buy and easier to install than threaded SKS barrel, probably any AK home builder could do it. But you’re right, this topic is moot for 2 reasons, I’ve never heard of anyone shooting their SKS enough to wear out the barrel, and why spend money to replace a silly Chinese SKS barrel when a whole Chinese SKS rifle can be bought for $350pinned vs threaded. Is there a big difference? Does anyone care?
