Smoking a brisket?

I know. Bless my heart!! We never smoked beef growing up and it's not something that I order when eating BBQ. To me BBQ=pig.

Brisket is the only beef for Q that I put on my smokers..I do a lot of pork...

I think I still prefer my smoked meat from a hog.

I did not. I despise the taste of coffee.

I don't generally like it as a food additive, but the last time I foiled a brisket (end of my cook), I added half a cup of coffee before sealing it up (didn't have any apple juice or beer). It was fantastic! You'd never know coffee was used.

If I poured it in there, I would know and wouldn't eat it. I did pour a little apple juice in it though.

I was cooking for a group from church and several of them don't like coffee. They all loved the brisket, though! Just a thought...
