I've seen this fellow twice around my house in the last week. I know it's non venomous but can't positively ID. I thought it was a rat snake, but all the rat snakes I've seen are black and more full bodied. This guy is kinda scrawny and mainly brown. I know he's been eating well cause both times I've seen him, he's had a full belly.

Rat snake. They can come in a variety of patterns and shades.
100% a Rat snake. There’s a multitude of color variations.
They are harmless and as long as you don't own chickens, I recommend just keeping it around to keep rodents and such away from your place. They're docile most of the time the older they get. A great way to tell is their checkered bellies. |
