They are really cool looking. I've only seen one in the wild. If you count my backyard as the wild (which it really is). But I'm pretty sure the OP's snake is not a scarlet king/milk snake.

Agree it's a black rat snake not a eastern king. Good snake but I'm pretty sure that rat snakes don't usually actually eat poisonous snakes like king snakes do. Just saying.
