My daughters brought home slips from school for sign up for career day. They wanted me to go, and even though I suspected the libitard principal would pass out, I put it down and sent it in.

I got my answer today... NO. But his reason angered me to the point I am planning to address it with the school board, and at the state level. He stated and I quote "in the current environment it's not appropriate". Current environment? I asked him to clarify, and he stated that with firearm violence it has created tension other parents may not want their children exposed to. He began to bring up Sandy Hook, and I cut him off. Sandy Hook is in Connecticut, we are in northwest Georgia.

Now I am not foolish enough to think I would be carrying firearms in to show them, nor anything firearm related. Gunsmithing however does require geometry, chemistry, and other vocational knowledge.

Am I off the reservation here? I calmly explained the head in the sand approach doesn't breed gun violence, but tragic ignorance. Children are naturally curious, and if they have some understanding and someone to actually talk to them about it... I mean seriously. They teach sex Ed, and see how well that crap is working with teen pregnancy!!

Ironically, my wife is still in law enforcement... And speaking to 4th graders. I fought the urge to ask if I were a career freeloader, could I teach them how to cheat the system.
