I would probably have said this ain't south central then go over the proper two hand grip and stance... Then shoot the bullseye out of a target to show that I know what I'm talking about.

Well a few weeks ago me and my range buddy as I like to call him went on our weekly range trip. Well he asked to bring his co worker, says he a nice guy that wants to get into shooting and had just purchased his first firearm an M&P 40.I agreed to let him come along, to me the more the merrier. So we get settled in and before I even unpacked my bag I gave the newbie a chance to go first. Well the first couple shots do not hit paper, as I figured, wouldn't really recommend a 40 caliber to a new shooter. But anyways after about 5 rounds this guy has the nerve to drop one hand and turn this perfectly good gun sideways and fire. I immediately turned around grabbed my bag and left. This guy is bad for the gun community period the lack of respect for a firearm was sickening. I have since mentioned that he no longer come with us. My question to you guys is, What would you have done? I took this action as a character flaw and have turned down the invite to even go have a beer with this guy. Or was it snooty. Floor open.....:pop2:

Me and my brother go shooting together quite often. We always warm up and then start calling shots. After an hour or so, we ran out of things to call. Light bulb goes off in my brothers head.... we need to call shots, shooting gangsta style. I LOL'rd and accepted the challenge. Believe it or not it's quite fun. Now granted we don't do mag dumps or go full Chris Costa on the range. One shot strong side and one weak side. It was so awkward shooting that way. Still fun punching holes though. Would I do it again? Probably so. For a new shooter, I would tell him there is plenty of time for that later and focus on the fundamentals first.

Next time teach him how to properly dual wield, preferably with his arms crossed like the movies teach me.

Agreed...did that once (not arms crossed though) with a Sig 556 pistol and a Kel Tec PLR-16.

Got some funny looks but damn was it fun!

PLR was way louder too...in case anyone was wondering.

You should have said "Seriously dude WTF? Every knows if your gonna roll gangsta like that you need a weapon in each hand. Here use mine."

AT one time or another, most of us have probably wanted to reenact something we've seen in the movies. But I am hopeful that most of us haven't in fact tried them... I think you missed out on teaching a lesson to this guy. I'm sure, him being newer to shooting and using a .40, had a sore wrist from shooting in that awkward position. I'd give him another chance, but would teach him, at least basic gun safety, and a little common sense.
