So sad....

Hate that it happened. Didn't this happen to two hunters in Colorado a month or so ago as well?

Got caught on the river once with my dad. Pulled the canoe out and flipped it to get out of the rain. Then the thunder and lightning started so that was not the place to be. Got away from the water but that put us in the trees. Needless to say it was not a good feeling. Once the weather blew over I'd lost all desire to fish.
 
When I was working and climbing poles, had lightning strike the chimney of a building across the street while I was aloft, and another time hit the next pole down from me.
Both times weather didn't look threatening, actual "bolt from the blue".
