So the AK-47 is pre-historic and outdated for battle?

My 22 upper does make it a completely different gun that works on total different mechanics. For one thing 22 works on blowback instead of DI and 22 doesn't have a locking bolt. People who say thru AK47 is outdated are saying so because the 7.62x39 is outdated and past it's prime. Saying that isn't the case because Russia arms their troops with a similar weapon using a much more effective round just doesn't make sense.

Holy semantics again batman. Do you have a name for your new gun when you put that 22lr upper on it? You call it the nws22arpimpslap? Maybe something else...

in his defense many people call the HK416 an M16.. and M4's M16's... and all of the above AR-15s.. etc etc.

Dear lord, this is like a Mustang vs Camaro argument.........

I would say this. If caught in the middle of a SHTF situation with no weapon, I would take either! If I was going to be in a swampy, dense forest/jungle, the AK wins my vote. If anywhere else, probably the AR.

If I was 6'+ 200 pounds.....I would love an M14!!! :D

You do realize that the Russians were our allies in WW2 right?

You do realize that it was a communist government in Russia that was afraid of the Nazi's and Fascist's that only fought a common enemy with the U.S.A. and not for a common cause. That cause being freedom. Look at what happened after the war and the division of Berlin.

Yes. The AK-47 IS outdated for battle. The AK-74, not so much...And there was no battle between Russia and Crimea.
