So who all rides motorcycles?????

Sad you have to do that. All good things seem to come to an end. That's been a good place as long as I can remember

To be fair, we kinda bring it on ourselves, the sportbike and car clubs tearing around up there... At some point, the Popo has to step in, and put a chilling effect on things till people calm down. It bums me out, but I can't really blame them for doing their jobs...

So we leave for other areas and enjoy new roads less traveled, till the police action slows to a trickle. Its good to branch out anyway.

If you’re able to ride up US19, GA60, or US129 during the week it’s not bad at all. I and a buddy of mine shot up over the mountain to Blairsville today on the bikes and didn’t have a vehicle in front of us until we got well past Neels Gap.

Twice in the last month I've ridden in or thru midtown & downtown ATL.

It's hard to get pics.
For this I pulled over on the "gore" between a on-ramp and 75/85 southbound.
There were big concrete barriers behind me, by the way. It was safe, and the traffic was barely moving --real creep and beep stuff.

I lived on Piedmont park for a few years. Worked in Rome, so I rode almost every day (that I was in the office, usually 3-4 days a week) for a year or two. Bought an FJR for the commute, and was able to use the HOV lanes, but driving downtown is an experience. I don't mind it much but most of my friend aren't too happy to ride downtown. Went for a bike night last Thursday, will probably start doing that a bit more often.

Took a group ride last weekend and..... here's your friendly reminder to not be stupid and wear "All the gear all the time"....

6,335 motorcyclists were killed in traffic crashes in 2023, which represents 15% of all traffic fatalities.
The fatality rate for motorcyclists was 28 times more than the passenger car occupant fatality rate in 2023, per 100 million vehicle miles traveled.
36% of all motorcycle riders involved in fatal crashes in 2023 were speeding
, compared to 22% of all passenger car drivers. Motorcycle riders 21 to 24 years old involved in fatal crashes had the highest speeding involvement at 54% in 2023.
Of the 2,171 motorcycle riders who died in single-vehicle crashes in 2023, 41% were alcohol-impaired.
In states without universal helmet laws, based on known helmet use, 51% of motorcycles killed in 2023 were not wearing helmets, as compared to 10% in states with universal helmet laws
.

So, tell us you've got a death wish, without telling us.
