So who all rides motorcycles?????

Hit a Doberman ( already dead I think) at about 11:00pm on the way home from The Dillard House one night… dog meat and hot exhaust ain’t a good smell. Buddy riding behind said it got cut in half when I hit it. All I know was the bike launched up in the air and nearly threw my wife off.

That was nothing short of a miracle. I wasn’t wearing a helmet and it went straight into my front end it was about 2.5 feet long. I was riding a 2000 superglide and it hit the front end on the tubes and headlight then worked its way down and the tire pinned it to the road and I went over it. It happened in less than 2 seconds. Truck was in front of me on the right side on I-10. I rode home after that. I don’t even remember where I was trying to go. I wear a helmet all the time now. That was out in El Paso and Texas doesn’t have a helmet law.
You better thank the Man upstairs!!!! Were you hurt at all?

My first street legal bike was a Yamaha DT 250 --which I didn't actually enjoy riding on US and State highways. It felt like it was too small and didn't belong on those roads where the speed limit was 45 to 55 . But it was great putt-putt-ing around quiet neighborhoods or farm roads out in cow country at 35 mph.

I paid for the insurance and a license plate and tag on that bike for one year ---probably put 300 miles on it.
Used it to graduate from a learners permit to a full unrestricted Class "M" motorcycle license.

I'd love to find one again that I could get on for just a short ride to see what it feels like after not being on one for 30 years!!
Nice bike

I ran through some unidentified exploded animal and let me tell you FLH mufflers can get anything to stick to them when they’re hot

Agreed. I ran over a dead racoon in northern Ohio back in July at night. Next morning I was scraping road kill off the mufflers and undercarriage of the Ultra. Managed to catch a small bird later in the trip - flew right into me. The lower fairing and crash bar caught it.

Yeah the mass of the ultra seems to keep it up but it also seems to account for a lot of the sticking around
