Somebody name for me anything more ****ing useless and aggravating than ladder shoes?

about three years ago there was a report here that an ODT member (or maybe it was a member's younger brother) died after falling off a ladder doing a household repair project. Had a head injury and lingered days at the hospital before passing.

Well, look what the government did to the humble gas can!
I could only click like on this one once. But oh my God what a great point! My Mom has a gas can with a damn paddle trigger looking thing on the nozzle. You have to hold it open to pour gas out of it. But how dafuq do you do that when you're already using both hands to hold onto 5 gallons of gas?

I've got pretty good mechanical aptitude when I took the ASVAB test as a senior in high school I scored in the top 3% for mechanical aptitude.

But my record with these modern no-vent, no-leak gas cans is terrible. I think I've encountered one out of five that works correctly and intuitively. The rest do not put out any gas no matter how you pull on the paddle or press the button or when you do it,

or at what angle you tip it.

The only way to get gas out of them is to unscrew the entire nozzle assembly and just pour!!

I learned about slippery wood and ladders but from only 12 feet & thank God I know how to land . & I was 20 years younger .

Yeah…. for me, the edge of the roof was only about 10 ft above the deck…. though "knowing how to land" didn’t work for me as I landed on an aluminum patio chair…. fortunately, I missed the glass-top table and the chair absorbed some of the inertia of my fall…. and yeah, I was 58 and recovered a little faster than I would today….

I’ve seen you can still buy the old-style pour nozzles for the new gas cans online….

Pure joy on that face. Bet the victim suspects nothing
Oh, you assumed that the cat climbed to a high place and waited for a victim to come by so the cat could pounce down?

Funny, I envisioned the scenario as being something like the cat jumped up on the picnic table and went for the fried chicken, and Dad flung it 9.75 feet in the air,
and now it is coming down from the apex of its trajectory .
