South Paws. Reverse dominant eyes. And underfolders...

Here is a hero for all left handers - Elizabeth Cotten - born 1893, too poor to buy a left handed guitar, she took a standard guitar and turned upside down and developed her own unique style, picking the melody with her thumb on the lower register. This is her signature song, which is sort of a folk song standard, and if you listen to a right handed player play, the music isn't the same.

The one piece of equipment that I know of that was designed (as an unintended consequence) to favor left handers is the classic QWERTY keyboard. The inventor of it (and an early version of a typewriter) put all the common letters on the left side of the keyboard to slow down typists so they would not make as many mistakes.

(old guy question - who has ever used a manual typewriter for serious business?)

It's a heavy burden to carry knowing that you are smarter than 90% of the population.

What's really odd is that there is no satisfactory explanation for "handedness" in humans.
That was an awesome share and I really appreciate it. One of the things about left-handed people although we are only 10% of the population we have been over 40% of the population of well-known scientists and mathematicians. Over 20% all all hardened criminals. Over 20% of politicians. And 100% of the time have never been in a fair polo match...

That doesn’t work for everyone.
I was the Tri-County champion in Ohio as a Target bow shooter in the late 60s and I shot right handed because that's how the bows were back then. So yes I have been working on using both hands for quite some time but I am speaking of a comfort level I'm sure if I switched to playing the guitar left-handed I would be 10 times better, and I learned how to switch the drums around to be left handed and I was definitely better cuz I'm also left-footed.
I'm not really trying to complain I'm just pointing something out that right handed people sometimes Miss ... there are situations where being left-handed is definitely an advantage oh, my dad was left handed and a professional baseball player playing first base and also a big time homerun hitter both which I'm sure the left handedness helped.
There are tactical situations where being left-handed is a huge Advantage when working with a right-handed person. Construction scenarios, even painting. But I'm just trying to find something comfortable with what I've got and not have to watch backwards people trying to teach me what to do

Blip I have the same predicament won’t bore you with a long story on how I ended up a lefty. When I learned of eye dominance in my 20’s I started shooting rifle and shotgun right handed and pistol left handed wouldn’t do it any other way now.
