In the 1950’s , snapping turtles was pronounced turkles . Article in the Milton paper a few days ago . 107 bagged in one hunt .
My youngest grand daughter is spending her senior year of high school in Germany as an exchange student.
Living just south of Berlin.
Last August she was immersed in a German language school for 4 weeks before the school year started.

speaking of pronunciation, I remember either on this or some other gun chat site a decade ago there was some debate about how to pronounce the rifle manufacturer Anschutz.
Well somebody found a recent (1990's or newer) video of the then-current company president, grandson of the company founder, introducing himself by name and talking a little bit about the firearms company, also mentioning the company's name multiple times .
Would you believe that that did not settle the debate ? ! ? (After all, it's just one man's opinion, right?)
