May I borrow it? I’d love to climb inside and go over Niagara Falls in it. I haven’t had a good “hey, watch this” moment in years.
Had to be some stout people back in them days. That trunk probably weighs 20 pounds empty. Now fill it with all your clothes and accessories and carry it when you travel. The square ones were built that shape in order to stack them on cruise lines or trains. Rich people had the camel top (as my kids say, pirate trunk) ones made to prevent stacking on theirs. The slats are usually solid oak and the rest of the trunk is made from a softer wood like basswood. Lots of history in them old trunks. You do excellent work.
carver Jerry if you find a source for straps let me know, that's the only thing I lack for mine also...

Those look GREAT, I usually see these in basements of Estate Sales, but never that nice.
