Stupid anal 1911 Commander holster IWB question...

I have a 4" now. Going to have a holster made. Should I have a 4.25" holster made, as I love Commander sized 1911s, and most definitely will be getting a 4.25" length Commander, or should I stick with a 4" holster now for my 4" 1911? The 4" was a quirk.

For you guys that have or know the difference, since I have never worn an IWB commander holster, does .25" make that much of a difference, or am I being a anal retentive arsehole?

Not to sidetrack your thread...have you decided who you're going to use? I have a order in for a custom made commander holster...the order was placed in November of 2014 and it's still in que...and I've talked to the owner to make sure...

I would much rather have an IWB that was the correct size or slightly longer. If you have or shorter holster then the front sight can catch on your clothing.

I use an iwb for my kimber pro size and also use it for an ultra. I'd always prefer a little more coverage than having the barrel and sight protruding. Take your OCD pills and order the 4.25 IMO. ✌

This^^^. It's what I did when I got my first 1911 - a 4" Kimber gun. Within a month I ended up picking up a 4.25" RIA as well...it took me 8 weeks to get my custom holster...
