Stupid Stuff? Stupid People!

I had to check out a tool where I work. I forget what it was, a tap or something like that. I needed a 3/8 whatever it was. The guy behind the counter told me he didn't have that size, he had 3/16, 5/16, and 6/16. I told him, "Let me have the 6/16, I can probably make that work."

Un-****ing-believable.

BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

lol, I'd have had to ask the guy if he actually just said 6/16ths, after I stopped laughing...
That'll give me something to mess with my son about, next time I need a 3/4 I'll ask for a 12/16ths....

Man, I started to laugh...I was snickering a little until I realized he wasn't joking! Then I was like, "WHUT???"

6/16 = half inch?????
FAIL!!!!!

LMAO!!!

Maybe he was screwing with everyone as handing out tools is probably very boring. Everyone else where you worked walked away when he said he didn't have the 3/8ths but had a 6/16ths. LOL

Bunch of stupid people in the military as well. I had a Navy seaman I ordered to rig a portable Furuno radar on the bridge of a submarine while underway. The antenna bolts to the motor with 4 metric bolts. This kid completed his task and reported it done so I went about my day until that night when I was called to the bridge to make a repair on a cable for a different piece of gear. I got to the top to discover this kid had dropped the 4 bolts over the side and his solution was to take about 30 2' long zip ties and tie the antenna to the motor. He left all of the ends intact so it looked like a giant stork nest.

I tasked a 2nd class nuke machinist mate with obtaining a shopvac to suck up rust and dirt with. He came back with a vacuum in hand and asked me "is this the right vacuum?" I thought he was screwing with me until I realized he was serious and then I asked him "did it suck?" He replied "yes" so I replied "then get your butt to work".
