Hi guys. My son has got it in his head that he needs a cowboy rig. Something along the lines of a long nosed revolver with a leg holster. Does anyone have any suggestions in this arena? Anyone have one they just love?
Pictures are a plus.

go with the taylor's smokewagon, I sold my vaquero and got that. the smoothness, timing, trigger pull are unmatched for the value. The italians do it better and I know that is going to trigger some people, but it he wants a colt without paying colt prices for with the Taylor's. They hand tune those guns and they are family owned in virginia. as far as leather too check out taylors was well :)

that Vaquero looks pretty sharp. if I were to pay colt prices, which colt seems to be the most reliable and likely to stay "in time"? Does anyone shoot a colt?
Late 3rd gen Colts are great. Late 3rd gens have a removable cylinder bushing. USFA, if you can find one, are awesome as well, maybe better than Colt. Standard Manufacturing are as good or better than the others.

I’ll post a pic later, but I competed in CAS for years. I use a pair of Colt SAA’s in .45 Colt, in a rig made by Black Hills Leather. They made the rig that Johnny Ringo wore in Tombstone. Mine is a copy of that rig, in a different color.
