Tag renewal question

soooooooo.........i think im a dumbass but out of curiosity, if i theoretically bought a car in january and received my tag middle of january.......do i have to renew again on my birthday in theoretical may? ..........someone theoretically may have forgotten and their tag may theoretically appear expired but theoretically didnt receive a renewal notice and forgot (theoretically i should have remembered anyway) anywhooo just wondering since it seems like a shady deal that i paid for a full tag i only got to use for less than 5 months.......

yeah thats what worries me...its 14....im 99% sure im just a dumbass and will probably get a ticket now that i found out. never even gave it a glance when i got it, just screwed it on the car and went on with life. first time iv ever forgot lol.

well my next off day is wednesday anyway so im just going to call on monday and find out the what the deal is and if i need to. just thought id ask the community since im bored lol.

You will need to go to the tag office. I have done this in the years past, and had to pay a $10 late fee.

dammit....o well i go to the north gwinnett office by MOG and iv never waited more than 5 minutes. just sucks i realized it on my bills pay week lol.

Fulton let's you do them online if there are no changes. Haven't had to make the trip in a few years.

Yes, anything under 2 months from your birthday can be renewed for another full year. Over 2 months you go back in. January was around the cutoff for sales tax option so if you didn't pay the 6% or so sales tax get ready for another shocker. If you did the renewal should only be $20 for another year.
