Tariffs Efect. Is it or it is just a rip-off?

It's all a scam at corporate level. My personal example: I was gonna order a bass guitar that was gonna be close to $5k after taxes (theft). I got in touch with a smaller business and they were able to sell it to me at $3800 out the door. Why would they be able to take a $1200 hit .over the big corporate store? Its greed pure and simple. I almost can't blame the liberals for hating capitalism

But that IS the definition of free markets and capitalism?

You were able to find a small business man with less overhead, less costs and less employees and buy it cheaper.
That’s how it’s supposed to work. Open free markets and fair trade.
Problem becomes when there isn’t open free markets and fair trade… get it?

Exactly, I get it of course. That's why I said "almost" can't blame them. If you get someone who monopolizes then you have a big problem. Like epipens and concert tickets. But just like communism, capitalism works great on paper until you throw people into the mix. Although capitalism is the better of two systems, the common denominator that ruins both is greed.

I don't go into C-stores much at all anymore but back when I did, I certainly wished they had a separate line for folks queueing up to pay their stoop tax.

The price of peanuts has increased more than that... 5 years ago, a pack of Atlanta Braves ( at my local Kroger's) peanuts was normally $1.00... but you could usually find them on sale for 50 cents. Now that same pack of peanuts is 2 for $5.00 that's a 250% increase in 5 years.

I promise the farmer is not seeing the increase.


I remember when the lottery was being sold to the citizens of Georgia. The money was going to school and hope scholarships. Don’t get me wrong I have one kid taking advantage of hope and both have taken advantage of the 4K program. It’s just think it’s odd that I don’t know more people who have won millions of dollars for so much to have been given away.

I also don’t see how their cost could have increased and I think they are just fleecing the ticket buyers.
