I own 2 Taurus pistols a 605 Poly Protector Black w/SS cylinder .38/.357mag and a Judge Public Defender Black Poly w/SS Cylinder .45lc/.410.The 605 shot circles around my wifes S&W Bodygaurd .38 so much we traded that crap away would never own another Bodygaurd and my Judge is an excellent woods gun for snake to well pretty much anything around here with some good .45lc's.That all being said I would never own one a Taurus auto pistol!!
Wish I could help you out but when it comes to betting my(or my wife's) life on it, Taurus or otherwise it suer as hell won't be a 22 in my pocket that I do the betting on. And for 50 bucks or so more I can get a Ruger P series that I DO trust.
You make a great point though..SHOT whatever you plan on betting your life on. I used to carry a Kel Tec P3AT in my pocket for backup but lost track of it in the shuffle and didn't shoot it for a while. Then when I finally took it to the range it jammed like crazy. Felt like ice water over the head when I thought of how I banked on it a few times when I had to leave my primary at home or in the car. Never again.
I have a different P3AT now(and yes, it has been shot..lol) but even so it's still a .380. Anything less than a 40 kinda gives me the willies and my EDC these days is a 45 ACP.
