Taxes

They need to change the laws. If you are not disabled and capable of getting a job, you shouldn't be able to receive refunds, foods stamps or Medicaid if you haven't had a job in over 2 years. Somethings got to give.

If your taxes are simple (1040EZ or 1040 with uncomplicated deductions), you should certainly pay in only what's needed to cover your predicted tax burden.

All that goes out the window for complex scenarios with diverse income sources, schedule C, schedule D, quarterly filings, etc.

Your refund is a partial return of your over payment of taxes. Just like those auto insurance checks that are partial returns of your over payment of premiums.

I'm self employed, save every receipt possible and always get ****ed by uncle Sam paying out about $3k every year. Have a 10 month old (which comes to the carlot every day with us), I will gladly take my refund this year.
I definitely agree that those whom do not work, shouldn't receive a refund. That's bull****.
You own a carlot?

Wife's W-2, My W-2, Schedule C, K1 (partnership income). Virtually impossible to reliably predict taxes. 2016 Federal tax liability about $110k. Argh!
