I didn't allow my kids to act up at the house, so I never had to worry about a public display.
I remember on of my kids laying in the floor kicking and screaming, then he was trying to see how fast he could get up and get away from the switch that was wearing him out. That ended all that fit pitching. Some folks say "well just ignore him and he'll stop"

I say Never Ignore your kids.
If the want love, love them.
If they are hungry feed them.
If they are cold, warm them.
If they want discipline, by all means discipline them, just don't keep doing what isn't working.

The reason most kids think their parents are stupid is because most parents treat their kids like they are retards.
