The ATF accidentally approved a form 1 for a Machine Gun

I would love to just have the oppertunity to own one, mainly a true MP5, but could the average shoot afford to just feed the damn thing? Ah no.

That, and all those people out there with 30k invested in a single serial number, they would be super pissed.

Naw, sure one or two of them might be butthurt, but most MG guns owners I know would gladly take the hit in order to be able to get more and expand our freedoms. That said, it looks like the MG approval has stopped the 21 day approvals. Almost nothing since they caught that.

I don't think it has anything to do with that. I think they are making more people work on paper stuff. I've been getting TONS of form 3 stuff back in the last week or so. Great for me, sucks for you.

One or two? Yeah, maybe one or two might be happy about it.

I'd honestly cry if this somehow passes. I'd loose a sizeable amount of money instantly. It's part of the "game" though I guess. I know it sounds douchey. But there's an entire industry around transferables. I know of a lot of dealers that employ people to help market transferables. Perhaps these people could keep their jobs if they started cranking out post samples for trusts. But many people would loose their jobs.

Don't care. They would find new jobs and new businesses. Expanding freedom is a good thing. The whole damn Hughes amendment needs to be repealed.

I'd agree about expanding freedoms and the actual act needing to be repealed. But It'll be hard to give over the hit on the losses.

Maybe a post sample M134 without a demo letter would make up for it.

I understand there would be some negatives for a handful of people if this went through (which I highly doubt), but don't the positives far outweigh the negatives? It would create much more industry and commerce than it destroys - it's a whole new type of product that could be bought by us 'commoners' who don't have $30,000 to blow. If you're scared that it could happen and you own/work in selling plenty of machine guns, I'd understand liquidating a few things now if you're heavily invested - but I have no sympathy for anyone who seriously wouldn't want this passed because of their own economic interests. That would be selfish, faced with second amendment freedoms and what would benefit roughly 99.8% of gun owners....

Edited to add: I understand where you're coming from if you work with transferable machine guns and you're alarmed by this, but I'm thinking of the common good here. Anyone who currently works with these could find new work in the thousands of jobs that would be created.

Also, I don't think any of this is gonna happen, so I wouldn't really worry. If it was ever a reality, I'd be lining up for an MP5, a few full-auto SBR lowers and a Glock 18 ASAP!!
