Agreed. Add to that, a true 1x (in high quality lpvos...most are actually 1.1x-1.3x) enhanced FOV, no mounting optics on the barrel, and less weight. LPVOs offer a huge advantage.I'm just going to say it. A modern LPVO does everything the scout scope was meant to do and it does it much better.
If Cooper were alive today he'd point and laugh at you for thinking you're cool using his outdated compromise when True 1× LPVOs with daylight-bright illumination exist and are readily available.
That said, scout rifles are super cool and rifle projects are a lot of fun.
