stringing up my '73 D-18 today

I know the D18's have their specific tone, but have you tried the Taylor spec Elixirs? What a fantastic string that seems to last for months and months.

Unbelievably clear and full bodied tone. What I put back on my Taylor 214E

Yes! i use those on my 614-ce and they sound awesome when amplified.

That d18 doesnt really like anything other than Martin 'bluegrass' strings (top 4 are medium, botton 2 are lights). I'm out of those so i slapped the nanowebs on her for now.

Elixir has a new phosphor bronze string that is very nice. I like them, anyway...I use Elixir because they are cheap and they last. Years ago I was breaking my Elixirs too often so I stepped up one gauge to avoid breaks and haven't had one since.

Well, looked around Guitar Center yesterday and saw they released a reverse Firebird with P90's! My wife saw how excited I was to play it and suggested I take it home. She is quite awesome I must say.

Outside of the custom shop, the last P90 reverse Firebirds made were the 1965 transition models.

Super stoked to have it along with my older Firebird V. Sounds killer and looks amazing!

Hope this inspires me to play again! I haven't played much if any in over 2 years.
