Too many pop-up ads there are more from ODT than from p0rn sites, and I keep getting security certification violations with "cleaner software" ads (this is a VERY clean laptop).

Absolutely no pop-ups on my end. I don't think your laptop is as clean as you think. The 'cleaner software' popups are usually an indication that you are infected.
