An un-named (but very cool) ODTer broke out some Gen3 (I think) at a camp out meetup here a couple of years ago. It was the first time I had played with real -not cheap- NV. I was blown away at how well you could see thru the woods and how far. We did testing against some cheap units I have and it was "night and day" lol. I couldn't see his emitters but he could see mine like I was carrying a bundle of road flairs. Sure wish I had a few grand to get one of those. With that said my cheapies could see about 50' in 0 light but his maybe a couple hundred yards (but it 10x the cost too)
Yea its def on my list even if i start with cheapies like you have. but id def love to see out those of said unnamed ODTer to know what i really need to save up for

I would be glad to show you mine, I have 3 types (4 units) and when you say "wow, that is pretty cool" you would have to remember that his are a different league. Like compairing collage freshman to varsity or even pro ball

No, I have freshman but they blow away the russian gen1 I had. I sold the 2 Russian units after doin a compairison
