The writers strike is ov...

Plus there's dozens of film specific retailers here in Atlanta that haven't sold a thing since May.

Tell me this doesn't matter to you lol, and I'll point you towards folks that lost their house because of this.
It’s staggering the amount of $$$ spent related to the film industry in Georgia. 20 years ago it was tiny, today it’s in the billions and growing. There is good and bad with it, but we’ll take the opportunities for sure.

I will say this: The first Writer's Strike that I remember (in the early- to mid-90's, IIRC) FUBAR'ed TV for a long time. It was during that situation that "reality TV" became a thing. We can thank that strike for forcing us to care about The Osbournes, Alaskan Gold Hunters, Tuna Fishermen, et. al. IMHO, the only good thing that came out of that period was Deadliest Catch, until even that turned into a soap opera.

I appreciate well-written shows, especially comedies like Schitt's Creek. I'd rather watch that stuff than seeing Kardashian kids fight over who gets to bang the new NBA player on the block....

Side note: One of the funniest lines I've ever heard was directed to Caitlyn Jenner at a roast. "Caitlyn is scheduled to have her bottom surgery next month, proving once and for all that nobody in that family wants a white c*ck.".

Then I’ll point out that some folks are not prepared, at all apparently.
