This industry standard electrical work

I have a dual light switch and last night I flipped the top one and it worked fine..went to turn it off and it just bounced back and would not turn off...Whats up with that? I guess time to replace the switch

Time for a new switch. Spring most likely let go, could be floating around inside and short out. Or might be a hunk of plastic for the spring and it just broke.

Yeap, but you will never get that put into the code book without some hardcore data to back it up. So its pretty much whatever look you prefer.

NEC doesnt specify ground hole up or down. Either is fine, so long as hot and neutral are correct. I agreed with you. not required to put ground up or down.

Not an electrician, but I've known a few that were very passionate about the "right" way to mount an outlet. That's like asking which way the toilet paper roll should go. One old guy would demonstrate by shorting out an "upside down" plug with his knife. You could tell he'd done it many times because of the burnt spots on his old Case knife.

Ding. ding. ding.

Winner. Actually changes depending on which part of the country you are in.

Not shoddy, but not the best work. Used a utility box, instead of an "old work" box.

Using wood shim is SOP for straightening out box, no different that nailing to the stud.

I did electrical work, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.
