Per the Savage Arms website, this rifle is not threaded for a muzzle device. The barrel is threaded at the chamber end to make changing barrels easier.

Tried 5/8x24 and it won't thread on.
The only thing I could find on Google was from another forum. It said 5/8 x24 but that won't fit.
If you have the box, look on the end and get the manufacturers part number, I can look it up that way. Did you buy it new?
my Ruger American has a muzzle brake on it. 1/2x28 should work if its for the 350 legend cartridge. I have a Savage axis in 350 Legend on Layaway hope that its threaded doesnt appear to be in pics
