Time for a new(er) truck...

Run from GM products!!! Ford or Toyota only way to go. Chevy is JUNK!!!
Im on my 5th Chevy truck. ive owned 87 K5, 94 C1500, 94 K1500, 05 Duramax, and now an 05 1500 5.3. None have ever let me down. Mom has an 07 Tahoe with 150k and only had minor issues.

All manufactures have issues. 5.4 triton loves breaking spark plugs and when you buy parts you better know the MONTH and year it was made. Toyotas (at least tacos) have issues with the driveline if you want anything taller than stock.

Careful with the GMC’s. They have a big problem with transmission issues. I have a 15’ Sierra 1500 with 102,000 mi and my torque converter busted apart. $3800 for rebuild. Apparently the 6 speeds have that problem a lot but no recall for it. The newer models with the 8 speed tranny have an issue with the transmission fluid causing friction. So just do some research before buying a GMC.

I drive a 14 FX2 Ecoboost and never had a problem and going on 100k miles. My friend put it this way as a higher up Chrysler/Dodge guy:

Ford for luxury
Chevy/GMC for looks
Dodge for work

Is something wrong with your current truck? I don't want or like debt.
It doesn’t have 4WD and areas of our property isn’t conducive to 2WD.

Stay away from the new Chevys. My company vehicle is a 2020 Z71 4x4 with the 5.3. At 398 miles yes three hundred and ninety eight miles the truck lost all forward gears and had to be towed back to chevy to have the transmission replaced. The amount of wind noise on the inside of the cab is enough to drive anyone insane. And currently if I take a sharp left hand turn it sounds like a 12 gauge shot gun goes off inside of the cab because something inside the seat frame is loose and causing a popping sound. If I would have spent the amount of money on this truck that my company did I would be furious and trying to return it instead of replace it.

After the Chevy bailout and the buyback of their stock at a lower price than what the government bought them at, I lost all respect for that brand. After being saved by our tax dollars and not even paying back what saved their company is a disgrace.

A Tundra or F250 with the new 7.3 gas engine would be my picks if I could afford a new vehicle.

Bought a GMC Sierra Denali about a year and a half ago. Have about 25,000 miles on it with no issues. 6.2L V8 FWD. Have averaged over 17 mpg for that total mileage. No complaints

I bought my Tundra as it was rolling off the assembly line in Texas. I had to wait on it to arrive in Florida and then while it came up to Georgia. That was back in 2010 and the truck has never been in any shop for anything. If you remember, back in 2010, Toyotas were in the news for unintended acceleration. The Tundra and Z71 were with$150 of each other's sticker price, but the Toyota was$8k cheaper out the door. I'm glad that happened or I probably would have bought and worn out the Chevy by now.
