A 1911 will run a wider variety of loads than most other pistols. A lot of the stuff that I handload will cycle fine in my 1911 and stove pipe in my glock. If you are using full power or plus p loads I have found that both work well. IMO a 1911 is a natural pointer, and is not the piece of junk that everyone thinks they are. I also do not have a problem with a glock, once I got the grip angle down I was shooting them accurately as well. I would trust my life to either platform.
....... You know, because 1911's are antiquated and jam-o-matics. I wouldn't want you to have to worry about your gun jamming when you need it. After all, I read it on the internet so it must be true!
