‘79 was a good year…
Still 3 years away from my second divorce, had 3 ‘Vettes.
A ´59, ‘64 coupe, and a ´79. 2 motorcycles, a ‘73 Kaw 900 and a ‘72 Yamaha R5.

I believe this picture was taken in 1979 when I was driving this 1972 Luxury Lemans, the fender skirts were in the trunk.

1976 BMW 2002. I had a 280z but couldn't afford insurance after a speeding ticket. Fun car but need more power and a 5th gear

Talking about "speeding"….. what I consider to be the "luckiest day of my life" was early on a Saturday morning in 1982, was 'testing' my 280Z on the Fla Turnpike extension (no traffic around) in south Miami…. speedometer was up to 130 mph indicated when I started to back off, tapping the brakes to slow down, and a Fla Hwy Patrol cruiser came up over the overpass towards me….. as we passed each other I saw him hit the dirt in the median out of the corner of my eye…. didn’t wait for him to try to catch up to me but simply pulled over and stopped on the shoulder…. he rolled up and stopped behind my car and back at that point in time one could get out of their car so I just climbed into the right front seat of his patrol vehicle and sat down…. his radar unit had only captured me at 90 mph (speed limit nationwide then was still 55)…. long story short, ended up with a $15 citation for an improper registration because I had a license tag on my car that belonged to a previous car I had owned and not yet transferred the title to my 280Z…. and gave me a warning that if he EVER caught me doing so much as 56 mph, he'd "have my ass!"….


There's nothing better than getting paid to look out the window....
