Last night while stuffed from eating, i found a movie on Netflix, Tomorrow, When the War began. It is an Australian movie aka Red Dawn and though it was slow, light on the action, if was pretty well made and more "realistic" than Red Dawn.
They did have this in there which made it more realistic, so for those who want to think about an invasion outside of the UN, this is how it occurred in their homeland
1. Japan or another Asian army invaded Australia and had it under lock down in 24hrs ! (they did not go into detail, but the enemy was Asian so N.Korea etc)
2. The enemy hid their forces and supplies in cargo containers on legit ships as "freight"
3. Once all the ships were in the major harbors of Australia, they quickly seized control of all ports and airfields first in a co-originated attack
4. They knocked out all power except in certain areas for detainment and rounded up civilians (Remember, they do not have the firearms we have in the US, so alot of the civi's went along)
5. Once the ports airports were secured, they spread out to key areas and controlled the air and sea with planes, naval gunships and had scout party's go out for supplies.
This was a pretty neat example of how a large force could come into the ports. I have been on ships and outside of leaving the country of origin, that is it until you reach your destination. So a country that wants to invade another, could just load up their stuff and ship it to another without suspicion.
I would not recommend watching the movie, it was pretty boring and the action was quick and not that exciting, but it was more realistic as you would expect from teenagers who have no clue about combat. So, I would say it was more realistic than action and not too bad if you like those type of movies
