You are paid while attending training and they pay for your training. There is no age limit and your background really doesn't matter. You need to take the GA Compass Test and do well to be selected for this program. I know people who were in their 60's and got hired. One lady 37 and delivered mail before she was hired as a equipment mechanic. These are Civil Service permanent jobs where you can go from apprentice to General Foreman or more.
