Truck Market crashing?

I have a 2004 GMC Sierra four-wheel drive SLE with 90,000 miles on it. Still looks new. It's a regular cab with minimal options. Not a whole lot to break. Even if I had the money I wouldn't own a 100,000 truck. It doesn't make sense. Especially a domestic vehicle. They depreciate so so much immediately after they are titled.
I always liked the base model trucks especially the F150 XL. Mostly for the rubberized floor covering. Carpet in a car is bad enough but carpet in a truck is just plain stupid. I don't want or need the huge touch screens or push button start and I damn sure don't want that feature where the engine cuts out if you sit still idling too long. That just seems like future problems just waiting around the corner. And just like you said about not a lot to break I completely agree. If your vehicle doesn't have said option then that option won't break.
I have an 01 Dakota 4 door loaded out truck in my yard that I bought super cheap during Covid. It's been broken down the whole time I've owned it. The parking lights stay on no matter what. Even when you switch it off they stay on. After trying a few expensive and non returnable switches and relays I found out it's the Body Control Module or basically the engine computer. Turns out they go bad on a regular. And they've bout.of production for over 20 years. I could get one on eBay but I would either be getting one with the same problem or waiting to have the same problem. ****in Chrysler! Whateryougonnado, right?
Point is...even though it's a damn cursed Dodge if I had the base model without the bed light , extra parking lights and all the damn power options it would probably be running just fine.

I ordered my 94 F250 XLT with a rubber floor mat and sound proofing insulation. I find myself taking my dirty cleats off to drive my carpet trucks. I just get in and go with the ole Ford. Gets dirty, sweep it out in seconds. Clean again

When I bought my new truck a couple months back, I had all intentions of getting another Tacoma. I’ve had two (2007 and 2011). But the new ones cost just as much as a full size truck and my wife wanted me to buy another full size. Coming from a lifted 4x4, I needed something my 87 and 88 yr old parents could get into so I could take them to all their appointments. The 2025;Silverado RST model I bought wasn’t mush taller if any with ground to floor height and I had them install running boards on it as well. I hate payments and I hate paying interest BUT the 0% financing I couldn’t pass up. Free money is free money. I’ll keep mine in the bank earning money while they loan me money for 0% any day.
Those 0% days are coming back. That’s what I guess I’m really waiting on

I am with you on most of it and those problems suck but not isolated to Dodge. I have diagnosing electrical issues all my life and it happens in all of them. I wasn't aware of the Dakota problem but that does suck. Just goes to show you that in our quest for technology we have made our lives even more stressful when we where trying to make it more enjoyable. Somethings like the old cars early 70's and older just needed to left the hell alone. Air con, power windows, power steering, tilt wheel and cruise is all I need to be happy driving.
