All the ATF has to do is arrest and drag a few over the coals, brake them financially, and riun their lives, then everyone else will submit.

If you destroy the brace I can't see how they can charge you with anything, but they are so vague that I'm sure they've left that open.

In the attic would probably be a no-go, since you could easily just put it back on again.

I hear people keep saying that but haven't seen anyone point out the exact text in this ruling that says that.

Seems to me simply removing the brace is all that's required. You can destroy or alter the brace, but I see nothing requiring you to alter your firearm.

You think a Remington Tac 14 will fall under this new rule?

I'm not sure if this answers your question, but I would imagine a Tac 14 would be considered an SBS once the rule is published on the Federal Register.
If a brace is now a "stock" then it would mean a Tac 14 with a brace is now an SBS.
However, the "forbearance period" to register "free" form 1's will not include short barrel shotguns.

If it just has the raptor's head grip on it, I believe that would still remain good to go.
But I believe the days of unregistered, braced shotguns with barrels under 18.5" are over (or about to be).
