URGENTLY SEEKING N95 MASKS for DOCTORS

You can get it in April, if you pay an extra $68. The guy that brought this to my attention is Dr. Arthur Bradley, a NASA engineer, who has his own prepper site, https://disasterpreparer.com/product/coral-uv/
From the disaster prepper website, you can order special hooks to hold the masks closer to the lamps. I priced out a UV chamber with a year of spare parts for $138 for May delivery, and Dr. Bradley's hooks are $14.99 with free ship. The chamber uses UV-C lamps. It would seem that hospitals would have a larger unit like this for the disinfection of certain items. We might have to bring back autoclaves to disinfect Tyvek suits and gloves much like Russia did when the Iron Curtain was intact.
I'm not aware of our hospital having any kind of UV disinfection unit for small items (we have large UV units used to light rooms). I'm not that familiar with autoclaves, but I doubt masks and gloves would be something you could sterilize in that way.

That is incorrect, although it would be convenient for you.

Hospitals don’t stockpile - they get supplies multiple times a week. Thy keep a few days of supplies on hand, that’s it. Masks have been highly controlled at our hospitals for at least a month now, but the resupply chain is dry.
This is the absolute truth, any time it snows for more than 1 day and deliveries are interrupted, the hospital starts to run out of linen (they farm cleaning linen out to an outside company) and food (nearly daily deliveries). It seems that nearly everyone operates on the just in time delivery system now....much to our detriment.

I got a "care package" 2 weeks ago from a friend that works at the hospital. 2 of my neighbors are nurses, their families all have face mask from the hospital and doctors office. Every medical professional I know got masks for their families when this first happened
Then you should probably report them...that's really shooting yourself in the foot...stealing medical supplies that would keep you from getting sick yourself...wow.

My wife is making some masks out Norwex that are reusable for healthcare workers she’s giving to them. She is accepting donations for elastic to make them. All she makes she is giving to whoever needs them.

Steralizing n95s for reuse is possi bbn le. There is a CDC study on this very topic, do a search and you will find it.

I ran across it several weeks ago looking for something unrelated.

IIRC, it is done with hydrogen peroxide in a gaseous chamber. Special piece of equipment (nothing too expensive for the gooberment), and an exposure of hours to sterilize.

I could not see a way to make it work as a DIY setup, so did not save the link.

I do remember it could be done on n95 masks many times with no degrading the protection level.

Thought you said this was a media hype!!!!! Why would accept these and prevent a person in the medical
field from having protection when needed most....

I didn't say a shortage of masks was hype. I didn't ask for the masks, they were brought to me before people like you started acting this way.
Try again
