Ive got some friends in West Unity. Beautiful country up there. Welcome to the Odt...I am a retired USPS employee. I take exception to some of your comments and agree with some others. It is best to work within the system. Trump's new Postmaster General did not set out to help the Post office in any way shape or form. A couple of hints when using the USPS. If your Town has only one outgoing truck per day(say 6pm) it does not make any difference if you mail a letter a 8am or 4pm. It will go out on the 6pm truck. If you can mail the night before even if you miss the 6 pm truck. the letter should go out the next morning with the truck that brings the morning letters flats and parcels. mail your parcels at the first class rate. Priority mail is an example of the first class rate. USPS processing centers are now smaller in number and further apart. I live in Napoleon Ohio and my mail used to go to Toledo Ohio for processing. Now, it goes to Pontiac Michigan(about 130 miles away).First class is processed first, so send it first class. If it is not necessary, do not have a package signed for. It may take a day or two longer for the recipient to get to the post office to pick up the package. And last but not least, If your letter, flat of package has stamps on it that have not been cancelled (either by machine or ball point pen), by all means reuse them. I do all the time.
