Before you are too hard on the dealers that do this please realize they are having trouble getting ammo too. Right now demand is much larger than supply. Many distributors are either out or asking a fortune for it. Since Wal Mart is the largest firearms retailer in the country with tremendous buying power they are getting some ammo unlike mom and pop dealers.
For them no ammo and no firearms means no livelihood. That means you have to have stock to sell. When your back's against the wall you do what it takes to keep your customers coming in the door.
There's a huge difference between being a douche and trying to keep your shop doors open,lights on, and employees and bills paid.

I really wouldn't say that Bargain Barn is a small shop/operation.

Independently owned unfranchised businesses then. I guess some folks will never understand economics or business or even the simple concept of supply and demand and just keep working for the man.
Just because someone can't compete with the same price as the largest firearms retailer in the country, who by the way is also having trouble procuring enough ammo, doesn't mean they are gouging.
And if I was working for Wal mart stock boy pay I'd want first dibs on products coming into the store too, as a benefit of working for low pay. Nothing wrong with it.
Don't like it? Get a job at Wal mart or other retailer.

So I've been at Walmart early when they actually open the cases and what is happening is Walmart is filling the cases with mixed ammo and filler paper. We opened a box of 9mm and it had 4 boxes of 9mm 50 rouunds, 2 boxes of 45, and 1 box of 22lr. That's bull!!!

They've been packaging that way for YEARS. Seems like a stupid way to ship. A few boxes in a repackage (unmarked box) but I've been buying Walmart ammo for a long time and this is the standard MO. It's not a Conspiracy.

Gunshop.......can't get guns, can't get ammo these days unless they get from retailers or customers.

No guns, no ammo equal no shop and no customer base.

Walmart in Evans has a good supply of 6.8spc. as of 15mins ago.

walmart in winder got a case of remington 525 bulk .22's in and a case of tulamo 7.62x39 yesterday, both were gone today. First time I have seen any in winder in a while.

some gun stores in newnan have new guns and most caliber ammo but it aint cheep

I scored two 100 count win 45acp white box today at the walmart in LaFayette. Still hoping to find bulk pak 22lr, Sig M400, and Ruger 10-22 SS one day. I got a Colt 6920 a week or so back.
