Picked up my Colt on Christmas Eve.... it had been there for about an hour.

Colt, Sig, Bushmaster and DPMS would have one hell of a breach of contract lawsuit if this were true. Thankfully, it is not and your buddy is full of it. I know of a 6920 that was received and sold by Walmart yesterday.
