I know they certainly wont install a different oil filter at customer request. The computer says a 3614 and they wont install a 3600 for anything. The 3600 is exactly the same except much longer but still has plenty of clearance on my yota. The 3600 provides twice the filter media and more volume but they wont listen for anything.
Some things ya just gotta do yourself.

10cm in tread-width reduction on a 14" rim is more than you think and you wouldn't have been shaving 10cm in height. Not to mention, treadwidth reduction also results in diameter reduction because the profile (70) actually refers to 70% of the treadwidth. Saving $5/e and going down in size on this size tire would have been a foolish decision IMO. It's best to stick with factory sizes on factory cars due to speedo calibration, etc.

I think the age old saying that Walmart only hires mentally disable and physically disabled as their main work force was proven this evening when I stopped at my local Wally world to get tires for my Camry. Factory tire size is 195/70/14 which they had in stock at 57$ per tire. Brand -Douglas extrac 2. Ok cool, but upon signing in I notice the same brand size 185/70/14 at 52$, I think wow I can save 20$ by shaving 10 cm of height! Now when I ask the desk man, a bewildered look comes over his face and he replies "that's not the size on your car". And I think "here's your sign"! So after multiple explanations as to why I want that tire to save money, the deskman and tire guy are still puzzled. So we get the manager involved, I explain the situation to her and she doesn't get it. Finally after a long heated discussion they install the 195/70/14 (the 57$) on my car and charge me for the 185/70/14(52$ per tire). No wonder our country is falling apart, all the government must have worked at Walmart. Retards!

I'll throw out a freebie- I changed tires at Sam's Club one summer and between quarters while in college... There's really no such thing as "training" for changing tires at the store I worked at. And I was in school at Georgia Tech. Let the comments begin.

maybe it does take a rocket surgeon to change tires, I've been doing it for over 30 years and only have a degree in Chemistry, not much training needed,we call it idiot proof

walmart "michelins" and "bfg's" and such are not what a local tire dealer would get, they are made SPECIFICALLY for walmart/sams club and are junk. wal mart knows nothing about tires except that they hold air

And the mini 14 thats up there right now is not the same as the one at bass pro shop .lol Here we go.

I work for yancey power systems on on high way trucks and heavy caterpillar diesel engines. I'm not a tire changer by trade but the the 185's they had sitting next to the 195's looked only a little shorter. And I highly doubt that, that size change would have changed the ppm/revs per mile enough, maybe 3 mile an hour. The car has 310,000 miles on it. I'd go as far as saying the speedo is out of cal anyway. But at least I get 38 mpgs daily!

Yeah man it takes to much to just throw away 20$ I can only speak for my self, but I work hard for that 20$, so If I wanna save some when and where I can, then isn't that the American way? I wasn't trying to make there life complicated as I know how truck drivers can be when your working on there rig but for a routine maintenance there should be no argument
