A couple of months ago I purchased 5 pairs of alpaca socks from Willowace as they were supposed to be great, comfortable socks. After a couple of weeks, two of the socks got holes in them up near the ankle so I contacted Willowace who advertise a 1000 day return warranty and they told me to send them back and they would send me a new pair. So I mailed them back at a cost of $8.00 postage plus my time going to the Post Office.
Instead of sending me two new pair of socks, they emailed me a voucher for $19.98 ($9.99 each) that I could use to order two new pairs of socks but I would have to pay $9.99 shipping and $.70 sales tax which combined with the $8.00 I had spent to send the defective pairs back is $17.69 basically the price of two pairs of socks! When I brought this to their customer service rep’s attention she replied if I bought more socks in addition to the replacement socks I’d get free shipping. I told her to forget it and to remove me from their mailing list.
Poorly made socks with a so-called “1000 day warranty” scam. .
