We can all calm down now, none of us are catching ebola.

My point is, can you even imagine the panic if Ebola killed even 10% of the Flu's impressive 53,000+ in America? Our economy would shut down.

That's absolutely true. When the outcome matters less than the cause, that's when people become the bigger threat than the virus.

There’s nothing like a bunch of internet “geniuses” to calm and reassure everyone that they should not panic. Meanwhile in realville every single person that gets seriously sick this winter is going to wonder in the back of their minds. Most likely only a small percentage will panic and take it to extremes, but even that small number is going to overwhelm an already broken healthcare system.

Or alternatively people could call on the government to shut down flights from these 4 countries until it is contained. And seeing as how our government had no problem placing a ban on flights with Israel, it should not be a problem for them to handle it for 4 third world countries...

I am all for closing the border and stopping all flights from West Africa. That's common sense. I'm just sick of watching the news media make this a bigger story than it should be and driving the panic.

Well do what I do, and cut the cable, and you won't have to watch it. Like I said, it's a horrible death so people are going to panic no matter what is said or happens.

But if people would bother to call on their government to stop this crap, then they could go back to their regularly scheduled *****ing over the fall TV schedule...

I'm about 80% for stopping flights too, but then we'd have guys like the one that died in Dallas that book a flight to somewhere else, and then come back in undetected. During that time, he might even become contagious as he/she is preparing to fly back to the US, and spread it all over two airports in two countries.

Hang out in Liberia for a while, book a flight to Ireland...drink some guinness for a day or so and fly back into Atlanta. Bam...****ed.

I wonder if they'll hold off on the season premier of "The Last Ship"

Could we not track them with their passports at that point? If the passenger has been in a quarantined country within the last 30 days, no-go to USA.
