They've made no changes to the GCA so silencers are still considered firearms and will require 4473.

I seem to remember seeing that Texas removed their 'illegal unless registered with under NFA' state law a while back. It sounds like we will need that here in GA if this all goes through.
Also, I would think that existing suppressors would be grandfathered in. After all, you have the tax stamp to prove it was properly registered. I could see it delaying, or even preventing new sales though.
Anyone seeing the GA legislature calling a special session to address this?

For the Boomers, the few on the ODT, will remember back in the day, that the US Govt. had to refund our CB license fees they made us pay to get a "license" to talk on our CB radidios. Ahh. Maybe it can happen with the NFA fees.
It's not necessary for states like GA to do anything.

The bill addresses it. Some states outright ban Silencers, SBR's and SBS. This won't help them any. But states like GA that only require federal compliance won't need to change anything because federal compliance is satisfied with bill.

So whats the timeline here? What are the odds of all this actually being passed? I feel like they'll remove it at the end before it goes in to be passed.
This should have been included in the original bill, I believe now it has to go back to the beginning and pass before it can be included with the entire bill.

The Senate has to vote on it and then will send it over to the House. It will be about:

Having a single Senate committee approve the silencer reform part of this bill is good,
but it still has to pass the full Senate.
I think that's doubtful, because many Republican senators are only moderately pro gun, and they still think of silencers the same way we think of bazookas and belt fed machine guns : unsuitable for ordinary people.
I'd contact my two Georgia senators if I thought it would do any good but considering those people are Raphael Warnock and John Osoff, I might as well just talk to a cement block wall.
