Ebony coral snake. You’re lucky to be alive.

I thought those where mostly found in the Atlanta area with heavy concentrations around Marta stations and bus stops.

Looks exactly the same size as the one I found cutting grass on Saturday. I took it to show my 17 month son, before releasing him far from the dogs. I have no idea where he learned "snake", but he said it.

I had a 4' king snake I would see in my driveway hunting lizards a couple times in the last couple years, haven't seen him in a while though.

If I found a snake cutting my grass I would let him finish the job - maybe even give him a cold beverage when done.

I found this docile little guy in my backyard. A black mamba eastern coral cobra snake.
