I bought one of the $349 at Wally...I can't decide if that or my $399 77/44 from Cabela's is my favorite steal. There's no way I'd sale either, you can't replace them for the money you have in it. My son shot his first two deer with the 77/44 so it's priceless to me, lol.

Yea those Ruger's are nice, I missed out on that deal but found a 77/357 on here that I really like.

I put a volquartsen spring, and a 0.002” bolt shim and it’s solid. Three hole groups touch at 75 yds with factory ammo (225gr leverevolution). My son claimed it, lol.

I agree you cannot replace them for the money you have in it. Those Wally World deals were excellent one time deals and if you got one, good for you. I wish I would have...

Compared to my Ruger American, which is all weather model. The action is far smoother on the weatherby.
However it is fore heavy. Perhaps a scope will help balance it.

The Vanguard is a Howa rifle, imported by Weatherby with their name stamped on them. No matter. Howa is a quality bolt gun, and for $299 this is a very good deal. I don't need another .223, but if I did...
