We're in deep folks...

What happens in 3-4 weeks when all these guns shops that have placed HUGE order for more guns get them all in and everyone is broke because they blew through there credit cards on a $1200 mini 14?

I'm not quite sure how its working now, but I do know that a lot of the distributors like RSR Group and others are empty in terms of inventory. So its my understanding that "ordering" guns now can't be done because I asked about ordering a 15-22 and they said they couldn't. I'm not sure exactly how it works for the dealers to get more guns at this point but I'm sure that your big stores will have a nice inventory and will have your sales. I remember earlier this year Cherokee had a sale on DPMS? for like $650 so if by springtime and no ban I expect there to be a lot of AR sales.

It went for 9+ months in 08 and 09 after the election and 6920s peaked at about 1800.

They were buying at this rate of volume?

Yes. For over a year you couldn't fine .223, 5.56, 9mm, .45acp, 22lr, or 380 ammo. ARs and AKs were rarely found at retail, and when they were they sold in minutes.

I think the worst part of it for me is that I hate when people I don't know stand behind me, but I can deal with it. I also hate when people I don't know brush against me or I feel an elbow or whatever, but I can deal with it. But I can't deal with both. If you're a stranger you have to pick: you can either stand behind me OR touch me, but not both because it freaks me out.

Like I said in another thread I wasn't into guns like I am now so I wasn't really paying attention but it seems like ammo is always the kicker because people constantly stockpile thousands and thousands of rounds. I just didn't think you'd get people continually buying rifles. But isn't it true that manufacturer production is higher now then it was back then?

Production is much higher now then it was back then. Of course, everything sold out faster this time too. We will see.

Yea I mean whatever come what may. I think we'll be OK but if not I'm not too much of a rifle man. I was more concerned with not being able to get my 15-22 MOE than I was a .223 so I'm not in dire straits.
